Associations Make Identities: Heritage Preservation and Colonial Identity

This project explores the nexus between colonisation and the politics of history, by examining the construction and negotiation of colonial identity through settler interest in New Zealand in heritage preservation and historic landscapes of both Māori and European origin. Questions around the place and meaning of history of settler societies are also a central thread of this project.
