Towards An Environmental History of Canton and New Zealand, 1850s-1940’

This research project examines the environmental impacts, environmental views and biological interconnections between Canton (China) and New Zealand established through the migration of Cantonese and the activities of New Zealand’s overseas missions in China.

The book attempts to integrate images, text, translations and poetry which reflect on the complexity and meaning of Lan Yuan.
